Soggy bottomed girl

No exercise on Friday apart from cycle to work.

We were thinking of doing Husband's "nemesis" ride on Saturday NE of Salisbury- which we'd attempted earlier in the year but were frustrated by Husband's chest infection and his bike breaking. But it remains the nemesis as we changed our minds:

  • Raining - and the "nemesis" route is over chalk hills - so would be very slippy

  • We had a lie in & didn't really have time to complete ride in daylight

M pulled out coz of his cold which meant we could consider New Forest routes (which M loathes) - so we did the high speed Burley/Brockenhurst circuit that uses the old railway line. 31.96k in 1 hour 43 mins of riding time. Husband had puncture but apart from that, nothing much to hold us up. We got drenched - more from puddles & spray than from the rain its self - and kit was completely coated in that fine Forest sandy grit that took 2 washes to remove from Husband's jacket! I feel a winter riding kit review coming on....

We're going to miss M for a few weeks now - he's having an operation on his hands this week to resolve his trigger fingers - better for riding in the long term, but he won't be on 2 wheels for a while. Which makes it more of a shame that he couldn't come out on Sat.

Gym today - 20 mins X trainer and a killer interval session on the treadmill - I'm up to 10kph/12kph for 30 mins now, passing 5K at 27:19 (but on the flat!). Have decided that Robin Hood is nearly as good as Hollyoaks for brainless gym TV.
